Snowflake challenge Day 1

First post for this year!

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator.

I am in a lot of small fandoms so I do a lot of things that I feel no one ever sees. Which is fine, I like it that way, but here are some things that I am proud of and would like more people to read.

Oath of Allegiance (3747 words) by Lexigent
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Queen and the Soldier (Song)
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: Major Character Death
Relationships: The Queen/The Soldier (Queen and the Soldier)
Summary:

Max, a young female soldier from a lower-class background, starts a romance with a mysterious woman in a tavern. At first, it's only a game to Max, but as time goes on and things become more serious, there are important questions to be asked.

I always enjoy Jukebox Fest, and I enjoyed writing this one because the prompt was for f/f and I was in a f/f mood. I was also able to fancast Maxine Peake as the soldier, which made writing this easier.

The Quality of Mercy (1002 words) by Lexigent
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Hamlet - Shakespeare, SHAKESPEARE William - Works
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Hamlet/Horatio
Characters: Hamlet, Horatio (Hamlet), Laertes (Hamlet)
Additional Tags: Alternate Ending
Summary:

"You will lose this wager, my lord."

I recced this last year as the one that defines me as a creator. I'd been trying to write a fic that fixes the ending of Hamlet for about a year before I wrote this, but somehow I never quite got there. Watching the Peter Brook production finally unlocked that door for me. I felt really proud and accomplished after writing this. I had a real block about messing too much with Shakespeare canon, and this was the first fic I wrote where I got past it and really said something I'd been trying to say for a very long time.

Five Things That Never Happened To Ophelia (587 words) by Lexigent
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Hamlet - Shakespeare, SHAKESPEARE William - Works
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Ophelia (Hamlet)
Summary:

AU wherein Ophelia says what she thinks.

This one is really short but I had so much fun writing it. I don't write female characters very often so I made concerted efforts to change that last year. This was one of the results.
